You will improve our cloud infrastructure architecture as we scale up our products and services. The initial role will be about 50/50 individual contribution to technical leadership, responsible for both shaping the roadmap for our infrastructure as well as contributing to the implementation.

If you are passionate about optimizing infrastructure at scale and have a strong background in security engineering, this role is for you.

What will you do?

This is a high-impact role that comes with significant autonomy and requires a self-driven, collaborative person. You will be focused on managing our infrastructure and security processes, and should be able to:

  • Work closely with a customer success manager to manage enterprise deployments and SSO integrations

  • Work closely with application developers to deploy infrastructure solutions to product problems

  • Automate new software deployments, data backups, and data recovery

  • Monitor and improve the performance and availability of our cloud infrastruture

  • Take part in an on-call rotation and incident response

  • Manage process for SOC 2 compliance & pentesting

Example projects

  • Scale out our infrastructure for zero-downtime software deployments

  • Identify opportunities to decrease cloud cost and increase performance

  • Stress-test backups and disaster recovery

  • Coordinate with customer success to support enterprise configuration (Eg. SSO)

  • Work with development team to support CI/CD workflows

  • Manage process for SOC 2 accreditation

  • Support future hiring and team organization

Expectations

Our ideal candidate should have the following:

  • 8+ years of cloud infrastructure experience

  • Availability to work out of our flex offices in San Francisco or Boston on a hybrid basis (2-3 times/week)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology-related field

  • Project management skills with ability to lead and collaborate with varied stakeholders, from engineers to customers, to move projects forward

  • Experience managing software projects using tools such as JIRA, Notion, or a similar issue-tracking system

  • Can think in terms of the big picture but deliver on the details

  • Ability to manage ambiguity gracefully, autonomy, and confidence in being self-directed

Relevant skills

You don’t necessarily have to be proficient in all of these, but the more you know the better:

  • Hiring and Project Management

  • AWS services (eg. IAM, GuardDuty, Elastisearch, Elasticache, lambda) and alternatives

  • Logging aggregation (eg. Loki, Datadog)

  • Docker and Kubernetes

  • Bash and Python scripting

  • nginx and alternate reverse-proxy services

  • SOC 2 and ISO 27001 familiarity

  • SSO, OIDC, and LDAP
