About the Position
Altis is recruiting a Head of Business Development with a strong track record of selling novel products into clinical development and medical affairs teams. We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader who can build strategic partnerships with biopharma to drive growth and product adoption. This role requires a deep understanding of oncology and clinical development to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
This is a full-time position with the option of working remotely in North America or in our office in Toronto. We expect responsibilities will be dynamic and expand as we strive to meet our team’s and clients’ needs.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Source, execute, and build relationships with large biopharma companies that conduct phase 1-3 oncology trials
- Help define our business development goals, strategy, and KPIs
- Lead the drafting and negotiation of business deals in collaboration with our executive team
- Routinely research and identify relevant clinical trials, indications, and drug modalities that would benefit from using our product
- Draft proposals, slide decks, white papers, and other business materials to communicate our product, value proposition, and scientific evidence
- Define the competitive landscape and stay up-to-date with industry trends, product launches and regulatory changes
- Manage and maintain Salesforce and build out reporting tools for board meetings
- Represent Altis at industry conferences and events (e.g. ASCO, ESMO, AACR, etc.)
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience partnering with / selling into biopharma clinical development and medical affairs
- Scientific knowledge sufficient to successfully pitch scientific teams (e.g., medical leads, biostatistics, biomarkers, data science)
- Proven track record of successfully building relationships with biopharma R&D executives and closing deals that result in value to all stakeholders
- Strong network and established relationships in the biopharma sector
- Strategic thinker with business judgment capable of identifying opportunities while also understanding scientific and regulatory risks
- Excellent writing and presentation skills with strong attention to detail

- Knowledge of cutting-edge technologies and trends in biopharma
- Familiarity with regulatory pathways and market access considerations in the biopharma industry
- Track record of contributing to the growth and success of a high growth business in the life sciences industry
- Exposure to the healthcare solutions ecosystem and the ability to clearly articulate the business value of AI in the clinical trials industry
- Experience working with international markets and global business development
