What We Do
We build AI models to enable smaller, faster, and more successful clinical trials.
About Altis Labs
Altis Labs is a computational imaging company focused on improving how oncology trials measure treatment benefit. Our core technology is IPRO, an AI model that generates patient-level outcome predictions directly from routine medical imaging data. Our global biopharma customers use IPRO to predict efficacy, navigate billion-dollar development decisions with confidence, and move their most promising therapies through Phase I–III trials faster. IPRO is trained on the industry’s largest real-world imaging, clinical, and outcomes database, containing over 210 million longitudinal images and more than one million patient-years of linked outcomes.
Our multidisciplinary team of AI scientists, clinicians, and business operators is on a mission to get the most effective treatments to patients sooner. We collaborate closely with academic medical centers and co-publish our results at top-tier medical conferences.
Altis is headquartered in Toronto, serves 6 of the top 20 global biopharmaceutical companies, and is backed by leading life sciences and technology investors.
About the Role
Altis is looking for an entrepreneurial Head of Business Development (Biopharma) to serve as our commercial leader on our executive team, while reporting to the CEO. You will manage existing Top 10 biopharma relationships and drive new business across large, mid-market, and emerging biotech accounts running Phase 1-3 oncology trials. This is a full sales-cycle, individual-contributor role to start: you'll own everything from outreach and conference networking through contract close and expansion, while also building the infrastructure that lets us scale and enable you to build the company’s sales organization over time.
**To be considered for this position, please send your resume to careers@altislabs.com with your name and VP, Business Development in the subject line**
What You'll Do
- Own the full sales cycle independently — prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, and close — across large pharma and oncology-focused biotechs
- Manage and expand our existing pharma partnerships, deepening executive relationships while broadening penetration within accounts
- Represent Altis at key industry conferences (ASCO, ESMO, AACR, etc.) and build relationships with decision-makers in oncology clinical development, medical affairs, biostatistics, and translational medicine
- Translate complex, evolving product capabilities into commercial narratives tailored to each sponsor's trial stage and data strategy
- Build the commercial infrastructure — CRM hygiene, pipeline tracking, outreach workflows — that underpins a scalable sales org
- Use AI tools to streamline prospecting, pipeline visibility, and forecasting
- Partner closely with scientific and product leadership to align commercial positioning with evidence generation and product roadmap
What You Bring
- A track record selling data-driven or precision medicine products into biopharma oncology clinical development — AI/ML tools, RWE, ctDNA/MRD, or other biomarker technologies
- Experience as a first or early BD lead at a life sciences tools company — comfortable building a commercial function from scratch
- Deep fluency in oncology clinical development: trial design, endpoints, and the pharma stakeholder landscape
- Proven ability to work independently without a sales team to lean on
- Executive presence that lands with VP and C-suite counterparts at large pharma
- Comfort with consultative selling for a product with a compelling but novel evidence base
- Based in the US or Canada
Nice to Have
- Existing network in oncology clinical development and translational medicine at top-20 pharma
- Working fluency in imaging, biostatistics, computer vision / AI, etc.
- Experience scaling a BD team — hiring and managing commercial ICs
- Familiarity with modern AI-assisted sales tooling
Benefits
- Competitive pay and generous equity participation
- Coverage for medical, vision, and dental insurance
- 4 weeks of vacation per year
- Flexible work organization and access to remote work
