Job Summary
Slide is looking for a Staff Accountant to help manage the day-to-day accounting operations and support the monthly close process. This role is a strong fit for someone who is comfortable owning parts of the close independently and wants to grow with a fast-moving company. You'll work closely with the Controller and finance team.
Responsibilities
- Own key components of the monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and accruals
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
- Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with cash flow tracking, bank reconciliations, and month-end reporting packages
- Support annual audits and tax filings by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Support and coordinate compliance activities through execution, documentation, and communication to management
- Collect and analyze financial data
- Utilize professional accounting concepts and internal processes and policies to solve accounting discrepancies and issues
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting data and processes, and work cross-functionally to design and implement changes
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, People) on expense tracking and budget questions
Qualifications
- Strong technical skill demonstrating progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CPA-track a plus
- Solid understanding of GAAP and hands-on experience owning month-end close tasks
- Strong ability to analyze new transactions and solve accounting discrepancies
- Proficiency with NetSuite (or similar accounting software) and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Strong time management and problem-solving ability, with high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders
- Strong ability to collaborate with others inside and outside the organization
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset — comfortable flagging issues and proposing fixes
