Systole Health is a venture-backed startup focused on transforming care for women’s heart health through evidence-based virtual shared medical appointments (SMAs). We are looking for a cardiovascular prevention-focused primary care physician to join us as a founding clinician, working closely with our CEO/founder, Dr. Simin Lee (Harvard-trained cardiologist), to deliver group virtual care and help shape the future of this care model at scale.

About the Role

This position offers a unique blend of clinical care, innovation, and implementation work.

  • Lead virtual SMAs alongside a dedicated health coach, providing comprehensive, high-quality care for women at risk for adverse cardiovascular events.
  • Work directly with Systole’s leadership to develop clinical systems that support the integration of virtual SMAs into health system partners.
  • Contribute to research and publishing efforts (abstracts, conference presentations, manuscripts) to demonstrate the impact of this model.
  • Advance patient education through content creation and events to support community engagement.

Who We're Looking for

  • Board-certified in Internal or Family Medicine with strong interest in cardiometabolic disease and cardiovascular prevention (management of hyperlipidemia, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus/prediabetes, and/or obesity) and addressing gender gaps in cardiovascular care.
  • Comfort with screening for cardiovascular risk enhancers, including lipoprotein(a), apolipoprotein B, and/or coronary artery calcium.
  • At least two years of independent practice in an outpatient setting
  • State licensed in Massachusetts and Florida, or obtained before your start date
  • Evidence-based, proactive, and collaborative clinician who thrives in a self-directed environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build patient engagement in a group telehealth setting.
  • Interest in innovative care models and health system integration.

Key Details

  • Remote role with occasional travel (~1-2x per year).
  • Anticipated start date: September 2025.
