The company has a history of partnering with top luxury corporations like Farfetch to further promote its efforts to increase the visibility, opportunities, and financial success of designers in Africa and the diaspora.
About The Role
The Folklore Group is looking for Sales Interns for Spring 2023 (January-March). This internship is unpaid, therefore only college students who are eligible to receive school credit will be considered.
This position is also remote (if you live in New York/New Jersey there will be opportunities to assist on trade shows and at our New York events), so applicants must have access to a working computer and internet. We are looking for a self-starter who is eager/quick to learn and is comfortable taking initiative and working independently.

What you'll do:
Assist the Sr. Director of Sales and Account Executive for any ad hoc needs and administrative tasks
Shadowing/assisting the sales team during market appointments, retailer pitches, trade shows, and other selling events
Assist the Sr. Director of Sales and Account Executive in retailer and brand outreach + follow-ups
Collaborate with cross functional partners in engineering and marketing to stay up-to-date on product offerings, feedback, and work on projects
Assist in cross-checking purchase orders after market
Monitor and analyze competitor activity
Stay up to date on market trends
Requirements
College student, must be eligible to receive school credit
Knowledge or interest in the African fashion industry and global luxury fashion industry
Access to personal computer/internet
Available 2-3 full days a week
Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Excel and Google Suite
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Detail-oriented
Proactive & a team player
Ability to multitask with a positive work attitude
